3. Mike Davis (CAR)

Game: Carolina Panthers at New Orleans Saints (Sunday, 10/25,1:00 pm EST)

Davis is said to be a little banged up, but we’re banking on him playing at New Orleans in Week 7. Since Christian McCaffrey succumbed to injury, the Panthers have been a middle-of-the-road rushing team. And, that’s to be expected when the most dynamic running back in the business is out for an extended period.

The 27-year-old Mike Davis continues to grind out yards in McCaffrey’s absence. He’s not very flashy and is nowhere near as prolific as McCaffrey. Yet, he is registering consistent PPR points, and the Panthers season is surprisingly afloat.

The Saints have a good run defense, but let’s go with Davis because he is the guy for now.

4. D’Andre Swift (DET)

Game: Detroit Lions at Atlanta Falcons (Sunday, 10/25,1:00 pm EST)

Swift’s takeover of the RB1 job is underway. Sometimes, these pass-offs are not overnight deals, and that’s what we’re experiencing here. Kerryon Johnson’s role has been minimized, Adrian Peterson continues to pursue Emmitt Smith’s rushing crown, and Swift is slowly but surely turning into an RB1.

Atlanta has an average rushing defense, and Swift is a playmaker (outside of the fourth quarter in Week 1). Slide Swift into the RB2 spot if you’re skill-position-player deficient this week.
