Corey Seager extends Dodgers Game 4 lead with solo home run (Video)

Corey Seager is showing no signs of slowing down this postseason, as he hit a solo bomb in Game 4 of the World Series.

The Los Angeles Dodgers look like a team on a mission to win their first World Series since 1988. After taking a 2-1 series lead over the Tampa Bay Rays on Friday, the Dodgers got off to a hot start in Game 4. In the first inning, third baseman Justin Turner mashed a solo home run to give the team from Hollywood an early 1-0 lead. Turner’s infield mate decided to join in on the fun.

In the top of the third-inning, shortstop Corey Seager took a 2-2 pitch off Ryan Yarbrough and sent it deep into the right field seats to extend Los Angeles’ lead to 2-0.

Corey Seager’s hot postseason continues for the Dodgers

This home run is Seager’s eighth of the postseason. Now, the shortstop joins Barry Bonds, Carlos Beltran, Nelson Cruz and Rays outfielder Randy Arozarena atop the leaderboards for most homers hit in a single postseason run. Entering the contest on Saturday, Seager was slashing an unreal line of .304/.403/.750 with 17 hits and 16 RBI.

Adding further to the history, the Dodgers have hit at least two home runs in seven consecutive postseason games, which is now an MLB record.

While outfielder Mookie Betts and pitcher Walker Buehler have dominated the World Series MVP talk, they might have some serious competition in the form of Seager.
