Watch Brandon Lowe destroy Dodgers Game 4 lead with 3-run home run
By Josh Hill
The Tampa Bay Rays brought their boom sticks to the World Series, and busted them out in Game 4.
All it took was one swing for the entire momentum of Game 4 to violently swing back toward the Tampa Bay Rays.
After falling into a hole in both the World Series and Game 4, the Rays came roaring back to life thanks to a 3-run home run by Brandon Lowe. The Dodgers turned to their bullpen and quickly reminded everyone watching that it is, in fact, terrible.
Lowe took full advantage of this, and used a Pedro Baez fastball to continue his excellent World Series. After homering twice this Series, Lowe added to his running tally by going long in the bottom of the sixth inning to dismantle the Dodgers 3-2 lead.
It was Lowe’s third of the series, but more strikingly it was his third of the entire season. Talk about saving your best for when it counts.
The big question entering Game 4 was whether the Dodgers Game 2 loss to the Rays was an anomaly or something to pay attention to as far as a trend. Both Los Angeles and Tampa Bay ebbed and then flowed in their both Championship Series comebacks they were involved in. Trading punches seemed to be something we could expect from these teams in the World Series, but the Dodgers out scoring the Rays 14-5 in Game 1 and Game 3 implied this series could be over quick.
But the Rays bats have a way of waking up in a big way, and that’s a forceful blow the Dodgers experienced in Game 4 and need to be able to withstand.
