Jaguars’ receiver Dede Westbrook suffered a leg injury against the Chargers and it was so severe CBS decided not to show a replay of it happening

It doesn’t look like Dede Westbrook will be playing any more football for the Jaguars in 2020.

Jacksonville’s wide receiver and return man suffered an apparently serious knee injury on a kick return against the Chargers and had to be carted off the field.

The replay of the injury was deemed so graphic, CBS decided not to show it.

Westbrook was returning a kick and appeared to hurt himself while planting before being tackled by a swarm of Chargers.

The Jaguars will have to wait to learn the extent of Dede Westbrook’s injury

It was a rough day in general for Westbrook. He fumbled his previous kick return, gifting the Chargers a go-ahead touchdown late in the third quarter. His next touch was the devastating injury.

Westbrook was drafted by the Jaguars in the fourth round of the 2017 NFL Draft. In 2018 and 2019, he was targeted 101 times and caught 66 passes as one of Jacksonville’s primary starters. However, this year his involvement has plummeted as Laviska Shenault Jr. and others took center stage at receiver.

He was a healthy scratch in several early contests and managed just one catch against the Dolphins. That was his one and only reception in 2020. Jacksonville turned to him on returns against the Chargers, but obviously, that didn’t turn out well for the team or him.

Los Angeles jumped out to a 16-0 lead by the second quarter, but the Jags caught back to take a 21-16 lead after halftime.

Justin Herbert produced the final 17 points of the game for the Chargers, guiding them to a 39-29 victory.
