The Buccaneers quarterback has his team on a role at 5-2 and leading the NFC South.

The Patriots? Well, they’re in rough shape.

The Patriots are missing Tom Brady more than ever

Brady proved once again that he’s not past it yet on Sunday with 369 yards and four touchdowns in a 45-20 win over Las Vegas.

Rob Gronkowski had another big game with his former teammate, catching five passes for 62 yards and a touchdown. Brady also made use of Scott Miller and Chris Godwin to great effect.

The offense hasn’t even added Antonio Brown to the picture yet. If Brady can keep the talent above the disruption, his weapons are going to get even better

On the same day Brady and the Buccaneers surged past the Raiders, New England suffered their biggest home loss of the Bill Belichick era.

The Patriots were blasted 33-6 by the 49ers, falling to 2-4. It was a game that put their quarterback situation in harsh perspective.

Cam Newton was benched after throwing three interceptions. Things didn’t get much better with Jared Stidham, who literally tripped over his own feet and also tossed a pick.

The blame isn’t all on Newton and Stidham. The Patriots are sorely lacking when it comes to offensive weapons. Of course, that’s yet another feather in Brady’s cap. The team got by without great receivers for so long because the quarterback elevated the offense to such a degree. Now they’re facing the reality of not having an elite passer behind center.
