2020 NFL power rankings, Week 8: Eagles rally, Raiders humbled
The Silver and Black had an extra week to prepare for the Buccaneers but the Raiders would be without veteran tackle Trent Brown. Jon Gruden’s squad owned a 10-7 lead early in the second quarter but would be outscored 38-10 the rest of the way.
Derek Carr threw TD passes to Nelson Agholor and Darren Waller and finished with 284 aerial yards. But he also threw a second-half interception and Las Vegas gave up three fourth-quarter touchdowns.
The Panthers looked to bounce back from last week’s home setback to the Bears with a win at New Orleans. It was a back-and-forth affair at the Superdome and one-time Saints’ quarterback Teddy Bridgewater wound up throwing for 254 yards and a pair of scores.
And Matt Rhule’s club played turnover-free football against the reigning NFC South champions. But they also allowed 415 total yards and allowed New Orleans to control the ball for 34:31.
The club has won three of its last four games after a 0-2 start and even though Brain Flores’ club has seemingly righted the ship after a shaky beginning, the decision has been made to start rookie quarterback Tua Tagovailoa when the team takes the field this upcoming Sunday at home against the Rams.
Second-year running back Myles Gaskins has sparked a ground game that was the worst in the league a year ago and the defense has made strides.
