The Chicago Bears will look to maintain the top-seed in the NFC, but will have to defeat a stout Los Angeles Rams team.

With the Seattle Seahawks losing their first game of the season on Sunday in wild fashion against the Arizona Cardinals, there’s now a new team atop the NFC standings, and that’s the Chicago Bears. No one thought that was possible prior to the start of the NFL season, but here we are. Chicago will look to maintain their seat atop the leaderboards, as they hit the road to face the Los Angeles Rams on Monday night.

The Bears are an intriguing team this season. Their defense have allowed the eighth-fewest total yards per game this season (337.2) but they own the fourth-worst offense in the NFL in terms of total yards accumulated per game (312.8). Even though both units are on opposite ends of the spectrum, Chicago still accumulated five wins!

Chicago managed to pull off a narrow 23-16 victory over the Carolina Panthers last week, even though Nick Foles managed to complete just 59-percent of his passes for 198 yards. Foles doesn’t light up the stat-sheet, but he makes the big plays when they matter the most, just like he did during his Super Bowl run back in 2017. But, he faces a tough test against a Rams defense that has allowed 209.5 passing yards per game (fourth-fewest in league).

The Rams are coming off a disappointing showing against the rival San Francisco 49ers last weekend. Quarterback Jared Goff managed to complete 50-percent of his passes for 198 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. Even with a passing attack consisting of Cooper Kupp, Robert Woods and Josh Reynolds, they couldn’t do much against the 49ers pass defense. Unfortunately for Los Angeles, they face a Bears defense that has allowed four touchdowns through the air and recorded five interceptions. Expect the Rams to go heavy on the run against Chicago on Monday night.
