The Dodgers picked up a dominant Game 5 victory over the Rays and can end the series in Game 6.

The Los Angeles Dodgers took down the Tampa Bay Rays in Game 5 of the World Series and are one disastrous Game 4 sequence away from being champions. But there is no need to look back now.

Dodgers fans likely weren’t comfortable Sunday night until the final out was recorded. But unlike in Game 4, there was no late-game drama from the Rays. Blake Treinen got the save. Now Dodgers fans may be wondering if the team has shown enough for the L.A. faithful to be confident their team can win Game 6.

Dodgers look great so far through five games

The Dodgers have two losses this series. One was Saturday night in one of the craziest finishes in MLB postseason history. The other was a 6-4 loss in Game 2. There has not been one game where the Rays have looked like the superior team.

Getting an off-day on Monday means all hands will be on deck in terms of the pitching staff Tuesday. Even Clayton Kershaw can see action after throwing 85 pitches Sunday night.

Right now it may be too premature to say the Dodgers have made the Rays lose all confidence after a close victory. The entire series has been close and fans saw that one, or two, errors in a span of a few seconds can change the final outcome of a game. That is just baseball in a nutshell.

One thing Rays fans will be worried about is the offense. The lineup has combined to score seven runs in the three losses compared to 14 runs in the two wins. However, they have alternated loss-win in the five games so there should be no need to panic.

Just when it seemed like the Dodgers would take a commanding 3-1 series lead, the Rays pulled off the impossible and made it 2-2. Now the Dodgers are up 3-2 and one thing Tampa has shown is no fear. An attempted steal of home Sunday night proved that, so don’t count the Rays out just yet.
