SEC officials, coaches and quarterbacks will not be safe from The Paul Finebaum Show callers.

The Paul Finebaum Show‘s callers will be themselves after what they saw happen in Week 8.

Even though only four SEC games happened this weekend, there was more than plenty to talk about from the Saturday that was down south. A few coaches are in hot water for the decision-making processes, as well as the SEC officials once again gifting its favorite team, the Auburn Tigers, yet another victory they did not deserve to win. It’ll be a hoot and a half, I can tell you that.

Here is what The Paul Finebaum Show callers will be talking about Monday

5. Mizzou might have a budding star in quarterback Connor Bazelak.

Even though it was one of the least exciting games of the SEC slate, we do have two interesting nuggets stemming from the Missouri Tigers’ Week 8 home victory over the Kentucky Wildcats. The first talking point stems from freshman quarterback first-year head coach Eliah Drinkwitz has in freshman Connor Bazelak. Dare I say it, he could become the best to ever do it in Columbia.

Mizzou should be rebuilding this year, but now has a pair of SEC wins under its belt, and the Tigers haven’t even played the Vanderbilt Commodores yet! Though he’s only a freshman, Bazelak is showing some of the traits that made Blaine Gabbert and Drew Lock special before him. It’s still early in his freshman year, but Bazelak has helped make Missouri slightly better than expected.

4. Kentucky needs to fire offensive coordinator Eddie Gran.

Do you know who can’t score points this year? Kentucky. The Wildcats fall to 2-3 on the season after only putting up 10 points vs. Mizzou. While they have scored 34 points or more twice this season, they’ve only won one of those games. Admittedly, they should have beaten the Ole Miss Rebels, but college kickers, man. The blame is firmly being placed on offensive coordinator Eddie Gran.

There are times we think the Wildcats are a good team, but when they are playing well, it is because of the defense under Mark Stoops. This is a team that should be vying for a top-three finish in the SEC East annually, as well as finishing the season ranked inside of the AP Top 25. Some passionate Kentucky callers will ask for Gran to be axed and it will start a conversation.

3. Jeremy Pruitt must bench quarterback Jarrett Guarantano.

If Tim Tebow knows the solution, then why does the problem keep happening, PAWL? For a hot minute there, the Tennessee Volunteers looked like they maybe could quite possibly convince themselves they belonged near the top of the SEC East with the Florida Gators and the Georgia Bulldogs. Instead, head coach Jeremy Pruitt has to make a quarterback change this season now.

We know what we’re going to get out of fifth-year senior Jarrett Guarantano, and it’s not great. He might occasionally give off the impression that he’s somewhat good, but his inconsistency and erratic nature of playing this position has the Vols at 2-3 through five weeks. Tennessee needs to figure out if any other quarterback on its football roster can play because Guarantano really can’t.

2. Auburn must have paid off SEC officials.

For the third time in five games, the SEC officials have played a huge part in Auburn winning on Saturday. They took a touchdown off the board vs. Kentucky, they took away a fumble from the Arkansas Razorbacks and now, they took away a potential game-sealing touchdown vs. Ole Miss. This is the third time a brutally bad call has gone in Auburn’s favor, so what’s up with that?

Auburn improves to 3-2, but is more lucky than good. The Tigers aren’t in the same class as the Alabama Crimson Tide, Florida, Georgia or the Texas A&M Aggies this year. Maybe keeping this so-so SEC West team relevant for when they play Alabama or Texas A&M might be the officials’ intention, but all the Finebaum callers will have something to say about it. They’re cheating, PAWL!

1. Nick Saban shouldn’t have let Jaylen Waddle return kicks!

This should not be the way an Alabama fan should handle Jaylen Waddle‘s season-ending injury, but don’t tell Alabama fans how to react to bad stuff happening to their favorite SEC football team. It’s all Nick Saban’s fault and he didn’t learn a damn thing since Tua Tagovailoa broke his hip last year. How many more great players are we going to lose to dumb injuries like this, PAWL?!

Alabama may be one of the three best teams in the country, but the Crimson Tide is now down its best playmaker for the count. This does hurt their chances to win a College Football Playoff game over the Clemson Tigers or the Ohio State Buckeyes. Heck, it might even allow the winner of Georgia/Florida to beat them in Atlanta. Life is so unfair to Alabama fans that it’s just not fair!

Even though only eight SEC teams even played a game in Week 8, tensions are high across the board, regardless of if your team won or not. Mizzou is probably pretty happy, as are the LSU Tigers, but everybody else who played is straight mad this week. The Finebaum callers will let the world know how they feel about it over the airwaves on Monday afternoon. It’s going to be great.

Why blame yourself for your misfortunes when you can easily point the finger at someone else?
