Tim Boyle is the Packers’ funny version of a human victory cigar
The Packers backup QB has enjoyed a number of wins this season
Tim Boyle has impressed in limited snaps this season. And most of you are probably sitting here saying “who the heck is Tim Boyle?”
It’s ok if you don’t know him because that’s a good thing. For all intents and purposes though, he’s Aaron Rodgers’ backup for the Green Bay Packers.
Credit to Boyle for making the most of his participation this season. Aaron Rodgers is playing like an MVP, but teams should be fearing Boyle’s presence. The reason? It’s game over. Boyle has played in seven snaps for the 2020 season. Each one has led to a kneel down to watch the clock run out. Currently, he ranks sixth in kneel downs for the NFL.
Boyle receiving game time is a good sign for the Packers
He has a nickname actually; Human Victory Cigar.
Since entering the league in 2018, Boyle has thrown for a grand total of 15 times, but his ability to seal the deal for the Packers is something teams must hate. Currently, he’s on pace for -13 yards on the season.
Rodgers is once again on a tear for the Packers heading into Week 8. Currently, the 36-year-old has thrown for 1,657 yards, 17 touchdowns and two interceptions. Last Sunday against the Houston Texans, he finished 23-of-34 for 283 yards and four touchdowns.
Still, while Rodgers will garner most of the attention, Boyle is the true gem of the Packers. Light the stooges when the 26-year-old backup takes the field Packers’ nation, the human cigar has gotten you a victory.
