Antonio Brown to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers has a massive fantasy football impact.

In two weeks, Antonio Brown will make his first start for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The wide receiver is serving the last game of his eight-week suspension before suiting up for this Mötley Crüe vs. the New Orleans Saints in Week 9. Brown’s fantasy football value will skyrocket from nothing, but his return to the NFL offers massive upside not just to him, but his new teammates.

The Fantasy Footballers are bullish on what Brown’s NFL return could mean for the Buccaneers from a fantasy perspective. All three of the guys agree this is huge for quarterback Tom Brady because Brown affords him another solid target to rifle the football to. While they have mixed feelings about how this impacts Mike Evans or Chris Godwin, they see the upside with Brown.

Check out The Fantasy Footballers for all their advice.

What is apparent in Brown’s signing with the Buccaneers is while you will want to start all the skill position players of note on this football team, the only player you can consistently rely on to get points week in and week out is Brady. There is a ton of variance in play because he is going to throw the football to whoever is open, no matter which receiving target it is.

While Brown’s fantasy upside is obvious, it adds variance to his teammates

Andy Holloway believes Godwin is the one player whose fantasy variability will be the least impacted. Though Jason Moore and Mike Wright are not as keen on this as their colleague is, all three are giving off the vibes of Evans being the most impacted by Brown’s signing in terms of fantasy football variance. Godwin is more of a possession receiver than the other two.

The other interesting wrinkle with Brown going to the Buccaneers is who Tampa Bay will be playing during fantasy playoff weeks. Oh, it could not be a better matchup than these three awful teams: Home vs. the Minnesota Vikings in Week 14, at the Atlanta Falcons in Week 15 and at the Detroit Lions in Week 16. This makes up for the Buccaneers having a late Week 13 bye.

Ultimately, Tampa Bay had a fantastic football team even before the Brown signing. Though it’s a bit far-reaching to think he’ll play anywhere close to the lofty standard he once set for himself with the Pittsburgh Steelers, he will almost certainly have a big game or two in the second half of the 2020 NFL season. However, his arrival on the Florida Gulf Coast creates variance for teammates.
