Dodgers are World Series champions for the first time in 32 years.
It only took six games and 32 years for the Los Angeles Dodgers to finally be crowned World Series champions again. For the past few seasons it felt destined for the Dodgers to win the title but every season something spoiled their fun. But not tonight.
With one of the best lineups in baseball, including Mookie Betts, Corey Seager, Justin Turner, Walker Buhler, and Clayton Kershaw the team finally got all their ducks in a row and secured the win.
But it didn’t come easily. Oh, no. Not at all.
In fact, if not for a terrible management call to pull Tampa Bay Rays pitcher Blake Snell in the sixth, the Dodgers might not have gotten the chance to pull ahead. It was in that pivotal inning and just moments after the next pitcher took the mound that the Dodgers earned the tieing run by stealing home on a wild pitch, then following it up with another run to earn the lead.
The last time the Dodgers called themselves World Series Champions was 1988
Mookie Betts made sure there was extra insurance round when he popped one into the outfield for a home run to start the bottom of the eighth. He’s gotta be the series MVP, right?
The team held that lead through the rest of the game and were crowned World Series champs.
The last time Dodgers called themselves World Series Champions was in 1988 and it’s been heartbreak ever since for fans of the team.
