DraftKings EuroLeague basketball picks October 29
The larger part of round 6 of DraftKings EuroLeague should again be on Thursday this week. However, in 2020, nothing is guaranteed. We lost two games on Thursday and one on Friday in round 5 due to COVID concerns. Some players are coming out of quarantine and there are less cases going around among the teams now, so we might have a full nine game week. Let’s check out the other injuries heading into Thursday.
Out: Patricio Garino (knee), Mateusz Ponitka (undisclosed), Joan Sastre (knee), Yovel Zoosman (hamstring), Fabien Causeur (coronavirus), Andrei Lopatin (coronavirus).
Questionable: Ioannis Papapetrou (ribs), Norris Cole (coronavirus), Kevin Pangos (coronavirus), Joel Bolomboy (leg), Austin Hollins (coronavirus), Billy Baron (coronavirus), Jaycee Carroll (knee), Janis Strelnieks (hip), Garbriel Deck (ankle), Paul Lacombe (coronavirus), Martinas Geben (Achilles).
Papapetrou was a late scratch in round 5 with the rib injury, but there is hope that he’ll be back in round 6. Cole was first quarantined back on October 12, so he may be ready for Thursday. Conditioning could be a concern if he plays though. The St. Petersburg players currently listed as out have been out at least as long as Cole, so some if not all may play this week.
Strelnieks has recovered from COVID but is still nursing the hip injury. He is the least likely of the coronavirus cases to play on Thursday.
Often in the EuroLeague season we see about ten players playing half the game. The upside on everyone is capped except for the few elites out there.
For DraftKings EuroLeague, we can’t expect 5x value like in the NBA. Most winning lineups are around 180-200 DraftKings points, which is around 3.5 – 4x value. Keep that in mind when mining for value picks.
