3 teams that should sign Kolten Wong in free agency

Before you start lighting up social media, just take this in mind. Sure, it’s highly likely that the New York Yankees will lock in their stud second baseman DJ LeMahieu to a lucrative contract. But what if they don’t? They’d need to have a solid contingency plan if that nightmare unfortunately becomes a reality. Kolten Wong fits the bill.
If LeMahieu were to be given an offer he simply can’t refuse, the Yankees need to add a solid glove to second base. Let’s face it, Gleyber Torres is a liability at shortstop, so New York can’t afford to have two uncertainties in the middle of the infield. If the Yankees were to add Wong, they’d be getting a second baseman who only committed two errors and posted a fielding percentage of 98.9 through 53 games this season. Those are welcome numbers for the Yankees, because they can’t afford to make any errors — especially in the tough AL East.
Again, Wong should only be an option for the Yankees if they lose out on LeMahieu. The Yankees are in desperate search of their 28th World Series, which has been the case for the past 11 years. New York should be in on every big-name free agent just like their dynasty days in the late 1990s and early 2000s.
