Deshaun Watson took four local children on a Foot Locker shopping spree as he spent his bye week giving back to the community.

Deshaun Watson is just a really cool human being.

The quarterback is spending the Houston Texans‘ bye week raising $100,000 through his charity, buying Halloween costumes for a local charter school and more.

On Wednesday, he took four kids on a shopping spree at Foot Locker.

Good-guy Deshaun Watson continues to prioritize charity work

Watson recently told reporters that his big plans for the bye week included resting.

“I’m tired,” he said. “It’s a lot, I mean, it’s everything. Just from COVID to coaching change to losses to success to family. I mean, just everything.”

That’s an exceedingly relatable sentiment from the 25-year-old. No one would have blamed him if he’d spent the week in bed sleeping. It’s been that kind of year.

Instead, Watson proved once again that he is always willing to make time to help those in need.

If only the Texans were as generous to Watson as he is to the Houston community.

The team is 1-6 despite Watson putting in excellent performances. He has thrown for 2,095 yards and 15 touchdowns while completing 69.5 percent of his passes. His passer rating of 198.7 is the highest of his career so far.

Reminder: He’s doing that without DeAndre Hopkins, his best-receiving target who was traded to the Arizona Cardinals.

It definitely doesn’t help that Houston’s defense is one of the worst in the NFL this year, giving up 31 points per game.

Watson and the Texans will look to turn things around when they come back from their week off. They will take on Jacksonville Jaguars, the only team they’ve beaten so far, in Jacksonville on Nov. 8. Matchups with the Cleveland Browns, New England Patriots and Detroit Lions could provide opportunities to build up some positive momentum.
