Quarterback: Justin Herbert $7,700

Justin Herbert’s ascent to National Football League glory has been fast and furious. Every week, he’s hit a higher point total each week, hitting the apex this week when he put up 38 Fanduel points on the Jacksonville Jaguars. He’s averaging 300 yards per game and has at least three touchdowns in the last three games. He’s been a fantasy superstar.

Herbert has been one of the best quarterbacks in all of fantasy for a month now. His $7,700 price tag is basically the first option in the second tier. Josh Allen, Mahomes, Russell Wilson, Aaron Rodgers, and Lamar Jackson all cost between $8,200 and $9,200.

Herbert is the kind of value players need to find. He’s still very expensive, and there are a lot of intriguing options after him, but there aren’t a lot of options after him that have 40-point upside.

Herbert is facing the Denver Broncos on the road. Obviously, those insane elements kept Mahomes in check last week, but Monday is expected to be the last day the Denver area stays below freezing. In fact, it’s supposed to get up to the mid-60s on Sunday.

It’s hard to judge what type of matchup Herbert is facing. The Broncos have faced a Patriots team devastated by COVID cases and a Chiefs team dealing with the elements in back-to-back weeks. It’s going to be a more normal matchup for them this week, and they’ll be forced to step up against a quarterback who has been dominating.

Herbert has to pull out a bag of tricks to make comebacks just about every game. This one will likely be no different.

Other Options: Tua Tagovailoa $6,800, Ryan Tannehill $7,500
