Juventus face Barcelona at Allianz Stadium on Wednesday, Oct. 28. Here’s all the info you need to watch this Champions League match.

When the Champions League groups were drawn, one of the first games circled was Juventus and Barcelona. The game was supposed to be a renewal of the Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo rivalry. However, Ronaldo will not take the field on Wednesday as Juventus host Barcelona because of a failed COVID-19 test.

Juventus opened their Champions League campaign with a 2-0 victory over Dynamo Kiyv. The defending Serie A champions are unbeaten to start the season. However, the club will be extremely shorthanded when they host Barcelona. In addition to Ronaldo, Juventus could be without their top three center-backs. Giorgio Chiellini, Leonardo Bonucci, and Matthijs de Ligt are all dealing with injuries. The loss of those players will create a massive void in the middle of their defense and could force manager Andrea Pirlo to play players out of position to compensate for the loss. In place of Ronaldo, Juventus will turn to Alvaro Morata, who has scored in three of the four games he has played in.

Barcelona’s disappointing start to the season finally caught up to club president Josep Maria Bartomeu, who resigned. Bartomeu had been heavily criticized for the way he had run the club in recent seasons. After winning their Champions League opener 5-1 against Ferencvaros, Barcelona lost 3-1 against Real Madrid in La Liga. Ronald Koeman’s first season with the club has gotten off to a terrible start as Barcelona have only seven points in their first five games. Koeman has struggled to find the best formation and combination of players through six games. Ansu Fati is one player who is thriving under Koeman. Fati leads the club with five goals and should be a featured player on Wednesday.
