Krasnodar face Chelsea at Krasnodar Stadium on Wednesday, Oct. 28. Here’s all the info you need to watch this Champions League match.
The second game of the Champions League group stage kicks off on Wednesday with Krasnodar hosting Chelsea in Group E action. The Bulls and the Blues both opened their Champions League campaigns with draws, leaving Group E as the only Champions League group level after one game.
In their opening game, Krasnodar drew with Rennes. The Russian club has struggled lately, dropping two of their last three league games. Manager Murad Musaev is trying to get his club out of the Champions League group stage for the first time in club history. If the Bulls are going to finish in the top two, they will have to find a way to steal a point from Chelsea. However, that will be a difficult task for Musaev. The Russian manager will be without at least 12 players who are dealing with injuries or positive COVID-19 tests. The biggest loss will be French midfielder Remy Cabella, who tested positive for the coronavirus.
Chelsea are unbeaten in their last five games between the Champions League and the Premier League. However, over that stretch, the Blues have been held to two scoreless draws and two 3-3 draws. The results have been very disappointing for second-year manager Frank Lampard after Chelsea went on a spending spree in the summer. The Blues are heavily favored to win the group and will have to get back on track with a victory on Wednesday.
