In one of the marquee Champions League games on Wednesday, Manchester United host RB Leipzig at Old Trafford. The Red Devils opened up the tournament with a 2-1 victory over Paris Saint-Germain. Leipzig defeated Basaksehir 2-0 in their opening game.
United’s victory over PSG was one of their best performances of the season. The Red Devils have been extremely disappointing and underwhelming in the Premier League. Through five games, United only have seven points. Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s seat continues to get hotter as his team struggles to get out of the block. Marcus Rashford and Bruno Fernandes will be the key players for United on Wednesday. Rashford and Fernandes have combined for eight goals and five assists in all competitions.
Leipzig are first in the Bundesliga after five games. Manager Julian Nagelsmann continues to prove that he is one of the best managers in the world. Despite losing strikers Timo Werner and Patrik Schick, the Red Bulls have not missed a beat. Dani Olmo and Angelino joined the club in the winter window and have both been excellent this season. Olmo has been a creative dynamo for Leipzig, leading the club with four assists. Angelino leads the club with four goals in all competitions, despite playing left-back.
