College football DFS quarterback picks October 31:

Top Tier:

We have three quarterbacks priced over $9,000, and I’m not sure I’ll be using any of them. Oklahoma State’s defense is solid, and while Ehlinger provides more value with his running ability, this isn’t a great matchup. He’s the only top option I would consider. Cincinnati’s defense is one of the better ones I’ve seen and Trevor Lawrence may or may not pay off the price. If you think that game stays close, Lawrence is a great option.

Hendon Hooker still ran for nearly 100 yards despite Wake shutting him down in the passing game. Louisville’s defense has had glimpses of their former selves but forgive me for not being a believer. Hooker is a very nice option due to his rushing ability alone. The fact that Louisville’s defense has been MIA most games doesn’t hurt.

Matt Corral needs a dose of good right now, so seeing Vanderbilt on the schedule is either going to cement his status as the starter or move him to a backup. This is a game where he needs a strong showing, so I have no problem riding Corral here. We all know what this offense is capable of.

Middle Tier:

Memphis’s defense isn’t any better than SMU’s, so this could be another monster for Desmond Ridder. Ridder is one of my favorite plays on the slate. It’s not out of the realm of possibility for him to be the highest scorer on the slate. Not bad for a guy with the seventh highest QB price.

There’s a good chance that Malik Cunningham has a nice game against the Hokies, but with Joe Milton cheaper and facing a team that was absolutely awful in their 2020 debut, Milton is the choice for me. Even TJ Finley looks like a better option than Cunningham in GPP formats.

Brock Purdy doesn’t usually move the needle for me, but he is in a great matchup and priced as a big bargain on this slate. Kansas is more susceptible to the run, but for this price, I have zero issues with Purdy. It’s not like the Cyclones wont pass at all.

Bargain Shoppers:

The LSU defense was better last week, but not enough to chase me off of Bo Nix. Ian Book being priced lower than Nix is enough to chase me off of him though in a plus matchup against the Bees.

Max Duggan leads the Toadies in rushing yards, but I’m not sure I want anyone on this offense. TCU routinely struggles to move the ball which means they all have low ceilings. Even a great matchup didn’t help last week. If you want a cheapie, Spencer Sanders against Texas is a much better option and he’s $200 cheaper.

If you think the Rutgers defensive showing against Michigan State is a fluke, Michael Penix is super cheap. Noah Vedral, the graduate transfer from Nebraska, also looked really good for Rutgers. This could be a sleeper game for fantasy value since I see it going over the over.

I know that Clemson is every superlative in the English language, but the price on Phil Jurkovec is way too low. BC is going to throw a lot since they wont be able to run. Even in a blowout, I don’t see a scenario where Jurkovec isn’t at least a solid option.
