Taulia Tagovailoa is starting to figure it out quarterbacking the Maryland Terrapins.
In his second start, Taulia Tagovailoa is already doing big things with the Maryland Terrapins.
After his older brother Tua Tagovailoa declared for the 2020 NFL Draft, Taulia Tagovailoa opted to transfer from the Alabama Crimson Tide to play for Maryland. This move made sense for two reasons. One being the opportunity to play right away and the second being coached by former Alabama offensive coordinator Mike Locksley. They are already putting up points in College Park.

This is a big reason Taulia Tagovailoa took his talents to Maryland
Even though the Terps are among the worst teams in the Power 5, eventually, they are going to score in bunches in Locksley’s offense with Scottie Montgomery calling plays. Maryland is holding its own vs. a Minnesota Golden Gophers team that needs to win to keep its slim playoff dreams alive. Defense might be an issue in College Park, but the offense is certainly coming along.
Maryland scored 21 points in the first quarterback for the first time in years in Big Ten play. Tagovailoa may have taken one in himself in the first frame, but the 76-yard touchdown strike to Jeshaun Jones will be what everybody is talking about on the Maryland side of things. Even though Locksley rarely wins as a head coach, he and his staff do know what they are doing offensively.
The winning may take a while to manifest, but we can see Tagovailoa having success in Maryland.
