Alabama football is an overwhelming favorite against Mississippi State.
No. 2 Alabama Crimson Tide have been dominating their competition this year. They are fresh off a demolition of Tennessee and have already blown out a Georgia team that had Playoff hopes at the start of the year.
The opposite is true for Mississippi State. A win over LSU seemed big at the time, but no longer does and the Bulldogs have put up a combined 16 points over the past two games. A win on the road against Alabama would be a true miracle.

Such a large spread can scare certain bettors. The difference here is just how bad the Bulldogs offense has been this year. They are averaging just 18.5 points per game against an Alabama offense averaging 48.4. Hence the spread of 31 points. Assuming the Crimson Tide get to a minimum of 48, it is hard to see Mississippi State getting more than 17 points. Taking Alabama is actually a safe bet in this one.
It doesn’t seem like the Crimson Tide will be getting into a shootout this week. That was what caused the offense to put up 63 points against Ole Miss a few weeks back. But still going well over the 40-point marks seems likely. A garbage-time score or two from the Bulldogs makes taking the under too risky. Let’s live and take the over in what should be a long day for MSU fans.
