Clemson running back Travis Etienne is now the ACC’s leading rusher.
Travis Etienne has often been overshadowed during his time at Clemson, but he got the recognition he’s been deserving of with a career milestone in the game vs. Boston College.
Etienne became the ACC’s leading rusher after a fourth-quarter carry to pass former North Carolina State back Ted Brown.
The record stood since 1978 with Florida State’s Dalvin Cook coming within 150 yards during his three-year career with the Seminoles. Brown had 4,602 yards during his career, but he’s bumped down to the ACC’s second-leading rusher with Etienne now the standard-bearer.
This wouldn’t have been possible if Etienne didn’t return for his senior season, bypassing the chance to be a top-50 pick in the NFL Draft.

He’s also got a receiving touchdown to give him his sixth such game with a rushing and receiving score, and he also set a record for most games scoring a touchdown.
Clemson got a big scare in the first half, trailing by as much as 18, but Etienne’s fourth-quarter touchdown gave Clemson a 32-28 lead as the No. 1 Tigers look to hold on for the win and remain perfect.
