Matthew McConaughey has inspiring message for Texas football fans after upsetting Oklahoma State

The biggest celebrity fan of Texas football and Texas professor, Matthew McConaughey, had an awesome quote after the Longhorns upset Oklahoma State.

Outside of Tom Herman, there may not be anyone who was happier to see Texas football upset Oklahoma State in overtime than Matthew McConaughey.

The biggest celebrity fan of the Longhorns and a University of Texas professor, the Interstellar star, was thrilled after Texas came away victoriously after a thrilling comeback win vs. Big 12 leaders Oklahoma State.

Texas was close to falling to 3-3 on the year before Sam Ehlinger and the Longhorns found a way to get it done and win in overtime after Joseph Ossai recorded the walk-off sack on the final play of the game, his third sack of the night.

Matthew McConaughey was thrilled to see Texas beat Oklahoma State

Following the win, McConaughey tweeted an incredibly motivational and inspiring quote that only he could deliver.

The win was the first against an AP top 10 team on the road since 2010 and could have kept Herman on the job for at least one more year. The embattled head coach could have been in the job market if Texas fell to Oklahoma State but now there is momentum again for the program.

Of course, momentum is a fickle thing and can be gone in a week, but if they bring in McConaughey to deliver a pre-game speech the rest of the season, Texas may find themselves sneaking back into the conversation to win the Big 12.

Alright, alright, alright.

Texas hosts West Virginia on Nov. 7 as they look to improve to 5-2 with a third straight win.
