Rutgers completed eight laterals for an epically ridiculous touchdown that was wiped off the board against Indiana.
In the pantheon of great college football highlights, Rutgers just created a juggernaut of a submission.
The only thing missing was the band on the field.
Utilizing eight laterals on a fourth-and-32 with under two minutes to play against Indiana, the Scarlet Knights somehow, someway scored a touchdown.

Unfortunately, referees don’t live by the “Rule of Cool.” Otherwise, they would have watched Rutgers complete eight laterals for a mostly inconsequential touchdown and let the play stand.
Instead, they called back the score because replay determined the fifth lateral was a forward pass.
Rutgers didn’t get the win, but they produced an all-time great highlight
Sadly, Rutgers was denied the fruits of their chaotic labor and ultimately lost the game 37-21.
The touchdown likely wouldn’t have meant much in terms of the outcome. They still would have trailed by no less than eight points with 91 seconds to work with and an onside kick required.
Now they’re 1-1 while Indiana moved to 2-0.
