Jalen Hurts. 2.. 54. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. QB. Philadelphia Eagles. player

This is probably the easiest and most painless move the Eagles could make, and it may happen as early as this season. If Wentz continues to put his team in holes that they can’t dig themselves out of, how about put in the rookie that they selected in the second round in Jalen Hurts?

Hurts is coming off a strong senior season with the Oklahoma Sooners, where he threw for 3,851 yards, 32 touchdowns and eight interceptions on a 69.7 completion percentage, while also running for 1,298 yards and 20 touchdowns on 233 carries. He never really got the chance to shine in Alabama’s run-first offense in his first three seasons, but he really got to show off his skillset under quarterback guru Lincoln Riley.

Look, the Eagles used an early Day 2 draft pick on Hurts for a reason. They clearly had doubts about Wentz, particularly with his ability to stay healthy for a full campaign. No one thought Hurts would end up in Philadelphia, and to the shock of everyone, it happened. If the Eagles continue to struggle to win in one of the easiest divisions in recent NFL history, then Pederson needs to put the rookie in. At that rate, what does he have to lose?
