Allen Robinson makes unreal diving catch for TD against Saints (Video)
By John Buhler
There is no such thing as an easy touchdown reception for Allen Robinson
Even with Nick Foles throwing him the ball, Allen Robinson has to dive to come up with this catch.
One day, Robinson will have a perennial Pro Bowler throwing him the football, but for now, a former Super Bowl MVP will have to do. Foles found Robinson on a 24-yard touchdown strike that was only made possible by Robinson laying out for it in the end zone. This gave the Bears a 10-3 lead over the visiting New Orleans Saints in FOX’s NFC Game of the Week on Saturday afternoon.
If this catch doesn’t show off Robinson’s greatness, what will?
Though Foles is certainly an upgrade, there will never be a day we forget that he caught touchdown passes from Christian Hackenberg in college at Penn State and from Blake Bortles during his rookie contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars. At least now Robinson plays for a potential division champion team in the 2020 Chicago Bears. It is all about the little things.
With the Bears continuing to look like one of the seven best teams in the NFC, perhaps Robinson will make his first career postseason grab this year as well? Keep in mind the year the Jaguars won the AFC South Robinson tore his ACL in the first game of the season. If you ever think about how unfair your life is, think about the quarterbacks who have thrown the football to Robinson.
Foles is good, but that play was all about Robinson making something spectacular happen.
