Two potential playoff bound teams need a win Sunday 

The NFL playoff hunt truly begins in the second half of the season. These two teams might need a win Sunday to stay alive a little longer. Things should be interesting when the Las Vegas Raiders travel from Sin City to take on the likes of the Cleveland Browns.

Las Vegas (3-3) might be one of the more surprising teams in 2020. Derek Carr is playing like a man for fighting for his job, which technically he is. Overall, he’s doing a bang-up job as well, throwing for 1,726 yards, 13 touchdowns and only two interceptions.

Cleveland (5-2) finally saw the competence from Baker Mayfield under center, even if the team’s defense almost allowed Joe Burrow to come back. In his best game of the year, the former No.1 overall pick finished with 297 yards, a season-high five touchdowns and one interception. Mayfield on the season has thrown for 1,392 yards, 13 touchdowns and seven interceptions.

The Browns’ offense will be missing a key element in the passing game. Wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., who was rumored to be on the trade block, will miss the remainder of the 2020 season after tearing his ACL on the opening drive last weekend. The Browns now will turn to fourth-year veteran Rashad Higgins as the go-to target alongside rookie tight end Harrison Bryant and Jarvis Landry.

Will the Raiders defense improve by the trade deadline? Mike Mayock might need to expand his defensive line if the team continues to struggle to add pressure. Although the front seven improved from last season, the Raiders rank 30th in sacks with only seven on the season.
