The New York Jets are well on their way to an 0-16 season.

The odds of Trevor Lawrence winding up in New York appear to be rising as the Jets are well on their way to a winless season. After getting blown out again by the Chiefs this afternoon, when Patrick Mahomes made New York’s defense look silly on multiple occasions, the Jets are 0-8 and it’s hard to imagine where the wins are coming from for Adam Gase’s team.

The Jets’ schedule isn’t exactly easy either, so let’s break down what’s left for them to see if there is a win possibility in there.

Week 9: Vs. New England Patriots

The Patriots are coming in on Monday night (that’s right, America has to suffer through this beatdown next Monday) fresh off a big effort against the Bills. Bill Belichick will take tremendous glee in burying the Jets once again.

Week 10: Bye

The Jets can’t lose to the bye but they can’t win there either.

Week 11: At Los Angeles Chargers

If this game was at MetLife Stadium there may be a chance for the Jets. Gase’s teams have been awful on the road, however, so look for Justin Herbert and Los Angeles to extend the Jets’ misery to 0-10.

Week 12: Vs. Miami Dolphins

Tua Tagovailoa is under center now as the Dolphins look like the AFC East’s best team. Miami won 24-0 against the Jets the first time so there is little chance the result flips even on the road.

Week 13: Vs. Las Vegas Raiders

The Raiders are a legitimate playoff contender and have a road win over Kansas City under their belt. Jon Gruden’s team lost at the Jets last year so expect the Raiders to be on high alert in this game.

Week 14: At Seattle Seahawks

After watching Patrick Mahomes throw for over 400 yards and five touchdowns today Russell Wilson must be salivating for his shot at the Jets’ mediocre defense. This game will turn into a blowout.

Week 15: At Los Angeles Rams

The Jets may opt to stay out west to avoid back-to-back West Coast flights but the Rams’ physical defense could send Sam Darnold running for his life. Aaron Donald will wreak a ton of havoc against the bad interior offensive line for the Jets.

Week 16: Vs. Cleveland Browns

This game might be the shot the Jets have at a win, especially if the Browns fall out of the playoff race by Week 16. It’s worth noting that Cleveland is a bully team that beats up on poor opponents so this would fit the bill for a Browns’ win.

Week 17: At New England Patriots

If the Jets get here at 0-15 you know that Belichick will take glee in ensuring that the Jets go winless in 2020.

Logic would dictate that the Jets can find a way to win one game but watching them quickly defeats this notion. There isn’t one thing that the Jets do well as they have the NFL’s least talented roster combined with an utterly unimaginative head coach in Gase. The silver lining for the Jets’ fans is that they will get a generational prospect to rebuild the franchise in Lawrence (assuming he comes out, which appears likely), but they will have to get through eight more weeks of pain to get there.

When can the Rams move on from Jared Goff?. dark. Next
