Every week, there are players ready to breakout. Here are the five for Week 9.

With teams scoring what feels like a ridiculous amount of points in the NFL this season, there have been an array of weekly sleepers who have had big days. Scoring touchdowns and racking up the yardage has not been reserved for only the highly rostered stars.

Options are always fantastic to have, especially with bye weeks and injuries. Although, this year it almost feels like there are too many options. Meaning, you may overthink it and pick up the wrong add on the waiver wire.

With all these possibilities, we are here to help. This week, the Philadelphia Eagles, Los Angeles Rams, Cleveland Browns, and Cincinnati Bengals hit the bye. So, here are a few names you will need to replace: Kareem Hunt, Cooper Kupp, Robert Woods, Darrell Henderson, Miles Sanders, and Joe Mixon to name a few. Other players such as A.J. Green and Tyler Boyd will need substitutes too.

As you can see, there are quite a few skill position players not suiting up this week. The waiver wire will be hot, specifically as fantasy owners scramble to fill those receiver holes for Week 9.

Who should you look for while opponents may lock their eyes on other candidates? Which “sleepers” are potentially poised for breakout days in Week 9? Below are the five players to research and possibly add.

The outlook for the Houston Texans has changed drastically. A team that often times won its division in a rather unknown and almost lackluster way now has a losing record in 2020.

Yes, Deshaun Watson is there, and he is a franchise quarterback. But, Bill O’Brien has been fired, meaning Romeo Crennel is now the acting interim. Of course, O’Brien and the front office sent star receiver DeAndre Hopkins to Arizona this past offseason. Taking one massive weapon away from Watson.

Even with that record, and with so much change, there are still options to throw to in Houston, and one player to keep an eye on this week is Randall Cobb.

Cobb had a bounce-back year with the Dallas Cowboys last season. So far this season, he has been a solid option for Watson, and he has had a couple of big games.

In Week 3 against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Cobb had four catches for 95 yards and a score. When the Texans played his former team the Green Bay Packers in Week 7, he went for eight grabs for 95 yards on 10 targets.

Cobb is still an effective receiver, and he could be in for another big game when the Texans travel to Jacksonville to play the Jaguars in Week 9. During the first matchup between these two teams, he had six catches on six targets for 47 yards.

The Jaguars have not been spectacular defending the pass, which makes adding and starting Cobb a serious option. Of course, by the time this game is played, he could very well be on another team.

For now, Cobb suiting up as a Texan against the Jaguars in Week 9 should be a play to consider.
