Corey Davis has been one of the harder fantasy options to evaluate. Since he was selected fifth-overall in 2017 NFL Draft, fantasy owners have struggled to place a reasonable value on him.
In 2018, Davis had his best season. Since then, it has been a case of up and down, hot or cold weeks for him. He seems to either have a huge day or not be too effective.
So far, 2019 has been no different for Davis, which is why his roster percentage is so low. Fantasy owners seem to finally be fed up with the inconsistencies, and the fact Ryan Tannehill has found other options to lean on such as Derrick Henry, A.J. Brown, and Jonnu Smith.
Well, get ready to roll the dice, because Week 9 could be one of those massive days for Davis as the Titans host the Chicago Bears.
The Bears have not been a bad team defending receivers. Actually, they have been steady by not allowing too many receptions and limiting touchdowns. But, they have been slightly vulnerable giving up yardage.
Davis and the team’s offense have had a more downfield approach this year, so Davis may get some action and haul in some chunk yardage catches. In Week 1, he had seven catches for 101 yards, and he has hauled in some touchdowns.
Tannehill and the Titans will obviously run the ball. But, the Bears offense has been stagnant, meaning the Titans may have a lot of possession time. Those targets could be there for Davis this week, and he is worth an add with so many other highly rostered options on bye.
