Porto were upset by Pacos de Ferreira in their most recent game. The defending Portuguese champions have gotten off to a disappointing start to their domestic season. Through six games, Porto are already six points behind Sporting Lisbon. In the Champions League, Porto are trying to get out of the group stage for the first time since the 2018-19 season. Sergio Conceicao’s club can move closer to a spot in the knockout stage if they can win on Tuesday.
Marseille were given some extra rest going into their game against Porto after their Ligue 1 game was postponed. After losing their opening two games, the French club is in desperate need of a point on Tuesday. If Marseille lose again, it will be extremely difficult for them to advance to the knockout stage. Florian Thauvin will be key to Marseille’s chances on Tuesday. Thauvin leads the club with three goals and five assists in all competitions this season.
