Tom Brady and Gronkowski reset record books with latest touchdown
Well, there’s another record for the infamous duo on Monday
Bromances are a huge part of a team’s chemistry, especially between a quarterback and his go-to target. They help franchises cement their status as true contenders while giving fans pure excitement whenever the pair connect.
In the 1990s, Steve Young and Jerry Rice became a household name in the Bay. In the 2000s, it was Peyton Manning and Marvin Harrison taking names for the Indianapolis Colts. Then, for most of the 2010s, it’s been nothing but the Tom Brady–Rob Gronkowski show.
Now, that duo has placed their name in the record books and could only see it expand in the coming weeks.
Following Gronkowski’s 3-yard touchdown in the third quarter, Brady and his tight end now have tallied 93 career touchdowns during their illustrious nine-year stint. With that score, the two surpass Young and Rice for the second-most touchdowns between a QB-receiver in league history, according to ESPN Stats.
Now, they’ll look to go after the Manning-Harrison duo, who currently holds the record with 114 total scores.
Are the two the G.O.A.T.s at their respective positions?
Brady and Gronkowski made a name for themselves during their stay with the New England Patriots. In Foxborough, they wrecked defensive fronts week in and out while helping the franchise win three of their six Super Bowls since the start of the new century.
Brady, who signed a two-year, $50 million deal to join Tampa Bay this offseason, played an essential role in bringing Gronkowski back to the game after his initial retirement following the 2018 season. With the favorite target now in Tampa red, the 43-year-old quarterback has resurged as a potential MVP candidate while leading the Buccaneers to a hot 5-2 on the season.

Gronkowski, 31, is having a quality season despite the already loaded arsenal found in Tampa’s offense. Through seven games, the Pro Bowl tight end has collected 22 catches for 280 yards and two touchdowns. Through three quarters on Monday night, Gronkowski has tallied three receptions for 23 yards and the score.
Congrats to the duo, now go big or go home. Peyton and Marvin, they’re coming for you.
