Fantasy football: FanDuel NFL 2020 best lineup for Week 9
By Nick Villano
Quarterback: Lamar Jackson $8,100
There are a lot of options at quarterback this week in the “very expensive” tier. Lamar Jackson joins Mahomes, Russell Wilson ($9,000), Kyler Murray ($8,600), Deshaun Watson ($8,300), and Josh Allen ($8,200) as quarterbacks costing over $8k. Allen seems to still be getting respect based on how he played earlier in the season. Meanwhile, Jackson isn’t getting the same amount of love.
He had a rough game on the field against the Pittsburgh Steelers, one of the best secondaries in the NFL. However, he was perfectly fine in fantasy. He had more than 18 points on Fanduel despite throwing two interceptions and fumbling three times. Jackson got small in yet another big game, but now he has a chance to really let loose.
Ronnie Stanley‘s injury is scary, but with a scrambler like Jackson, it could be interesting if that might actually help him in fantasy. It’s a long shot, but forcing Jackson to run more because he doesn’t have time to throw could lead to more points at least in the first week after the injury.
Jackson has not been the same player that won the MVP last season. However, he hasn’t been a complete mess. There’s a guarantee here, barring injury. The floor for Jackson seems to be 15 points, but he is one of the few players that can get 30 at any time. If he gets two rushing touchdowns against the Indianapolis Colts, then 25 is close to a lock. If Rivers throws two interceptions that put the Ravens in positive territory, then it could lead to easy points for Jackson.
Other Options: Deshaun Watson $8,300, Matt Ryan $7,600
