NFL trade deadline: Biggest winners and losers
By Mike Luciano
Loser: Philadelphia Eagles
Someone has to, unfortunately, win the NFC East by virtue of screwing things up the fewest number of times. The Eagles are in pole position to take home that division crown after beating up on Ben DiNucci in a dominant win against the Dallas Cowboys that pushed their record to 3-4-1. With the Cowboys sputtering in addition to both the Giants and Washington lacking the quarterback to make a deep run, the Eagles could’ve made one move that set them apart, but Howie Roseman chose to go silent on deadline day.
Roseman has been pretty cavalier about making big trades in order to get “his guys”, so why did he get all quiet when he had the chance to truly separate from the rest of the pack? He could’ve added a new offensive lineman to keep Carson Wentz upright or a linebacker that can take snaps away from the declining Nate Gerry. Instead, Roseman did nothing, giving the rest of the division hope that they can take the Eagles down.
