5 realistic Aaron Judge trades the Yankees should consider
2. Aaron Judge moves across town
The Mets are preparing for new ownership to take control. The franchise wants to make a big move to usher in a new era. Prying Judge away from the Yankees would certainly make big headlines in the Big Apple.
Of course, Cashman isn’t going to be taken advantage of by the noisy neighbors from Queens. The Yankees will force the Mets to pay through the nose if they want to acquire Judge. The clear target of the team’s affection would be Mets’ ace Jacob deGrom.
Pairing deGrom with Gerrit Cole at the top of the Yankees rotation would instantly make them the World Series favorites. That pair could shut down any postseason series by making four dominant starts in a seven-game series.
The Yankees won’t be able to convince the Mets to make this a simple one-for-one deal. Cashman will need to include another asset or two to sweeten the pot. Perhaps Clarke Schmidt would be enough to convince the Mets to pull the trigger. This potential trade could serve as a win for both New York franchises.
