It’s killing Damon Harrison to not be playing football right now

It sounds like Damon Harrison wants to play on NFL Sundays once again here very soon.

Damon Harrison has a newfound appreciation for football after having not played at all in 2020.

Harrison played eight seasons in the NFL for three different franchises. The former undrafted free agent out of William Penn spent his four seasons as the New York Jets nose tackle from 2012 to 2015. In his first year with the New York Giants in 2016, he was named a First-Team All-Pro. He was then traded to the Detroit Lions mid-season from the Giants back in 2018.

After being released by the Lions in February, Harrison has mostly spent the 2020 season out of football. While he signed with the Seattle Seahawks to be on their practice squad back in early October, Harrison hasn’t seen the field since he last played for the 2019 Lions. Harrison tweeted out a message about how much he misses football and how he cannot wait to play it again.

 Maybe Damon Harrison will play for the Seahawks at some point this season?

The good news for Harrison is he has the hunger inside of him to play football again. For a guy who plays in the trenches and where every play is a car crash for him, it is easy to understand how a guy may fall out of love with the game that transformed his life. But playing for a winning organization with serious Super Bowl aspirations in Seattle, maybe “Snacks” gets his shot soon?

This is a different Seattle team than we have grown accustomed to under head coach Pete Carroll. It is an offensive-driven team led by NFL MVP frontrunner Russell Wilson at the quarterback position. While the defenses have been strong for the most part under Carroll, that is not the case in 2020. Perhaps attrition or a means to mix it up will get Harrison back out there on the field?

It sure sounds like “Snacks” is hungry again to play some football at the game’s highest level.
