Indians eyeing Mets as suitor in Francisco Lindor trade talks
Per a report, the Cleveland Indians are eyeing the New York Mets as potential trade partners for a monster deal surrounding Francisco Lindor
In what’s been the biggest news of the offseason, the expectation is that the Cleveland Indians will be looking to trade superstar player Francisco Lindor. You better believe teams are lining up to try and get the standout shortstop to town.
However, per a report, if you ask the Indians, there may be one team in particular they’d like to make a deal happen with. Yup, we’re talking about the New York Mets. While the team has struggled in recent years, adding Lindor to the lineup would certainly bring some excitement to the fanbase. Could the two sides make something happen?
The Cleveland Indians and New York Mets could make a Francisco Lindor trade that would rock the bigs
Per MLB insider Jon Morosi, the Indians indeed have interest in making a deal potentially go down with the Mets. Morosi added, it should be noted, that his expectation is that the infielder will be traded at some point this offseason. While fans in Flushing are probably dreaming about the idea of Lindor making plays at Citi Field, this is something that is really going to take time, if it happens.
New York has just announced that Steve Cohen is the new owner, which brought a spark of excitement to Queens. However, for a deal of this magnitude to be made, there will be no rushing things on either side. Lindor is a playmaker, who will help a team out at the plate and in the field.
Last season for Cleveland, the four-time All-Star hit .258, with eight homers. For now, he remains with Cleveland, but he could be looking at apartments in a new city sometime soon. And that apartment may be in New York City.
