Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes fired career TD pass No. 100 to Tyreek Hill.

We’ve only seen Kansas City Chiefs starting quarterback Patrick Mahomes as QB1 in Kansas City for 2.5 seasons, but he’s already thrown more touchdown passes than most quarterbacks would ever dream of.

In his game against the Carolina Panthers, Mahomes found the end zone three times, with his most recent touchdown standing out as his most impressive of the afternoon so far.

A busted coverage from the Carolina defense left Tyreek Hill wide open in the middle of the field, and Mahomes thanked the Panthers for their charitable nature by extending Kansas City’s lead on his 100th career touchdown pass. Mahomes achieved that feat in just his 40th career start.

Mahomes didn’t take long to get No. 101, as he found Hill on a short two-yard pass play.

Patrick Mahomes has continued his excellent start to the 2020 season

Mahomes has thrown four touchdowns today, extending his season total to 25 against just one interception. Much was expected out of the defending Super Bowl champion after signing that massive contract extension in the offseason, and he’s responded by slicing defenses up at his expected historic clip.

While Kansas City is still in the middle of a dogfight with a very tough Carolina team, Mahomes has taken full advantage of a secondary that is still learning how to put it all together, as his three touchdown passes have helped offset a somewhat disappointing day from a Kansas City defense that has let Teddy Bridgewater find the end zone on three occasions.

Mahomes has hit touchdown pass No. 100 in record-setting time, and the stockpile of weapons around him and excellent coaching next to him on the sidelines might be able to help him reach No. 200 at the same awe-inspiring pace.
