Clemson football: Trevor Lawrence details COVID-19 experience, recovery
By Mike Luciano
Clemson football star quarterback Trevor Lawrence shares his recovery from COVID-19.
After missing Clemson’s last two games after testing positive for the coronavirus, Trevor Lawrence is not quite 100 percent recovered but will be back for the Tigers’ next game on Nov. 28 vs. Florida State.
Lawrence, who was on the sideline during the loss to Notre Dame, said on Monday he is “back to his old self” after almost a week after his positive test, reporting no new symptoms and asserting most symptoms have gone away.

Clemson falling to the Irish in South Bend was not at all the fault of backup D.J. Uiagalelei, as the much-hyped freshman topped 400 yards passing and put up 40 points on the road in his second career start. Unfortunately, Irish running back Kyren Williams had little problems gashing Brent Venables’ defense.
Lawrence, who originally said he thought the onset of his symptoms was the flu or fall allergies, says his sense of taste and smell is still a bit off. Lawrence said he’s good to play if Clemson had a game this Saturday and he’s back at practice, preparing to start the Nov. 28 game vs. Florida State.
Despite the loss to Notre Dame, their first regular-season loss since 2017, Clemson still controls their destiny to win the ACC where a rematch with Notre Dame likely awaits in the ACC Championship Game. If they win that, Clemson will be back in the College Football Playoff with Lawrence having a chance to win a second national title in three Championship Game appearances in his three seasons.
