Cam Newton fumbled the ball late in the New England Patriots loss to the Buffalo Bills in Week 8. This meant the Bills not only beat the team that so often defeated them for years, but it also set the team up very well in first place in the AFC East.

One of the biggest reasons for the team’s success that day was running back Zack Moss. The former third-round pick went for 81 yards on 14 attempts with two rushing scores in the 24-21 win.

Devin Singletary still projects as the lead back, and he had himself a nice day against the Patriots as well. But, it is fair to assume the Bills will continue to lean on the run and cycle both backs in and out during games. More importantly for fantasy owners, Moss might end up being the redzone back.

This week, the Bills travel to Arizona to play the Cardinals, a team competing for a divisional title as well.

Arizona’s defense has not been fantastic against the run, and with Josh Allen and the play-action threat, this seems to be a favorable matchup for Buffalo.

On the road against such a competitive opponent with a potentially explosive offense, the Bills will likely elect to try and control possession. Meaning, the rushing attack will be the key to victory. Also, since Allen’s hot start to the season, he has come back down to earth a bit, making the running game that much more involved.

It is always somewhat risky with these ā€œby-committeeā€ approaches, but as we have already seen, Singletary and Moss can both have big days in the same game. Moss gets the upper hand due to his potential touchdown threat.
