Did you know it was already the second quarter of the Patriots game? Twitter didn’t.
The New England Patriots might be one of the few teams that will draw in attention against the New York Jets, but not for the right reasons. With both franchises struggling, it could be the end of an era for Bill Belichick’s squad, which is trying to thrive in life post-Tom Brady.
However, what might be even funnier than a struggle outing from Cam Newton and the 2-6 Patriots is how the fast the first quarter went by. Seriously, who else remembers turning on their channel and then wondering what happened to the first 15 minutes of the game?
Well, in case you didn’t know, don’t be alarmed. Most of Twitter didn’t know either.
Twitter couldn’t believe the first quarter closed so fast
Some were just shocked. Like literally just wondering if it truly was already over.

That was a fast ass 1st quarter

I think that was the fastest first quarter in a NFL game I’ve ever watched.

Someone actually timed it, meaning they’re either bored or really smart.
A fast first quarter. 26 minutes in real-time
— Alex Barth (@RealAlexBarth) November 10, 2020
Patriots 7
Jets 3
Naturally, there are those who believe both these teams didn’t want to play.
Then, others believe that maybe playing with a fast clock would end the pain for everyone watching.
Wow. Fast first quarter. Are they playing with a running clock? Not a terrible idea. #NFL

Others wanted to comment on how the year will never end, unlike this game.
That first quarter was the only thing in 2020 that didn't take absolutely freaking forever.

Of course, both teams might be better off accepting defeat at this point with their seasons all but over.
First quarter for this #MNF game lasted about 30 minutes real time. Both @Patriots and @nyjets trying to get this season over ASAP. 🤣🤣#NYJvsNE

But hey, at least New England finally found the end zone in the first quarter against the winless Jets, right?
.@CameronNewton stretches for the score.

Cam Newton’s opening drive started strong, going 4-of-4 with the eventual touchdown. The Patriots held Joe Flacco and the Jets to a field goal and punt before allowing a 50-yard touchdown pass to Breshad Perriman. New York now leads 10-7 entering the middle of the second quarter.
