Jets GM Joe Douglas seems to have fallen asleep during the best game of the season for his winless team.

The New York Jets are an absolute disaster and right now fans are just waiting for general manager Joe Douglas to move on from head coach Adam Gase. Or perhaps ownership will move on from both of them.

Monday night actually saw the Jets compete against the New England Patriots in what was a shocking game. Naturally, the Jets couldn’t pull off the upset and fell to 0-9 to keep on the tank train toward Trevor Lawrence.

To add to the jokes, it appears Douglas was fast asleep and didn’t even know his team lost.

Joe Douglas was fast asleep

Oh boy, when your team is awful, there is always something like this to talk about. It was, in fact, a late night on a Monday, so maybe Douglas was just grabbing a power nap. Or he was trying his best to look away from Joe Flacco and what was happening on the field.

Douglas has continually stuck by both Gase and quarterback Sam Darnold. We will see how loyal he is if the Jets are sitting with the No. 1 overall pick and Lawrence commits to come out in the draft.

The Jets actually took a 27-17 lead into the fourth quarter Monday night. Then the offense couldn’t hold onto the ball and the Patriots put up 13 points to go home with a 30-27 victory. This was probably the best outcome for New York.

The team is obviously not reaching the postseason, and even if they don’t want Lawrence, or he stays at Clemson, they can still make a big trade with the No. 1 overall pick. Winning one game in ugly fashion will provide some temporary excitement, but won’t change much positively in the long-term.

Douglas sleeping during a game will just be another embarrassing image from this already disastrous 2020 campaign.
