2. Tearing up opposing defenses with ease

The offensive stats tell the tale for Mahomes. We have already covered the touchdowns and interceptions, but there is so much more.

The only player Mahomes trails in terms of passing yards is Matt Ryan. The Chiefs star is only 59 yards back of the lead and is there on 16 fewer completions.

Mahomes’ QBR of 84.8 and rating of 115.9 ranks only behind Rodgers, who trails in yards by 434. Rodgers also has two bad losses this season, while Mahomes’ only loss came on a day when the Las Vegas Raiders put up 40 points on the Chiefs defense.

The 2018 MVP has also put up big numbers when it counts. He threw for 385 yards and four touchdowns in a win over the now 6-2 Baltimore Ravens and had an efficient 21/26 day with 225 yards and two touchdowns against the now 7-2 Buffalo Bills.

Mahomes has also only taken 11 sacks and is not doing anything to hurt his team. He now needs to average 330 yards per game to reach 5,000 yards on the season. He has already topped that mark five times and a few more 400-yard outings will make him stand out above the competition even more.
