Pick Analysis. OF, Atlanta Braves. . player. Scouting Report. Ender Inciarte. 1.. 17

Inciarte had a rough 2020, with a .190/.262/.250 slash-line, one home run, 10 RBI and four steals over 46 games (131 plate appearances). Hamstring and quad injuries ended his season early. Potential changes in the outfield would push him even further out of the mix for the Braves (30 starts in center field in 2020). Then he’d be a pretty expensive extra outfielder that can’t stay healthy ($8.7 million; the third-highest total payout on the team right now for 2021).

Inciarte played just 65 games in 2019, as back and leg issues hampered him. Take the last two seasons together (111 games-361 plate appearances), and you have a .225/.314/.343 hitter (.657 OPS) the Braves paid a total of $13.4 million for.

Inciarte has one more fully guaranteed year left on his contract, with a $9 million option for 2022 that has a buyout of a little over $1 million. That “expiring” deal makes him a possible trade chip. If the Braves will eat some money, maybe they could motivate someone to part with a mid-tier prospect. Quite frankly even a low-end or overaged prospect for Inciarte would probably suffice for Atlanta if it means offloading a salary he can’t nearly justify with his performance.
