FanDuel DFS Golf: Masters Final Round Player Selections

This Sunday, the FanDuel/DFS community will be presented with the final round of the 2020 Masters. Let’s take a look at the final round slate from a fantasy golf perspective!

Before I discuss my FanDuel player selections I want to clearly state that this article is specifically focused on the final round contest. The final round contest is vastly different with regard to scoring than the traditional contest offered by FanDuel for DFS golf.

Here are my player selections for the final round of the 2020 Masters!

Justin Thomas $11,600

Since September of 2019, Justin Thomas has played 21 tournaments on the PGA Tour. In those 21 events just mentioned, Thomas has 12 top ten finishes, including three wins (2019 CJ Cup @ Nine Bridges, 2020 Sentry Tournament of Champions, 2020 WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational).

Thomas fired a final round 66 at the 2020 Tour Championship en route to an eventual second place finish two months ago.

Xander Schauffele $11,500

The 27 year old American has played eight tournaments on the PGA Tour since the beginning of August. In those eight events just mentioned, Xander has an average final round score of 67.5.

Additionally, Xander has an impressive 11 consecutive top 25 finishes on the PGA Tour, including a second place result at the CJ Cup @ Shadow Creek last month.

Justin Rose $9,700

First of all, Justin Rose has not been playing up to his high standards over the last year. However, Rose has recently shown signs that his game is moving in a positive direction. The Englishman fired a final round 67 at the ZOZO Championship @ Sherwood last month on his way to an eventual 17th place finish.

Let us not forget that Rose has come very close to winning a green jacket multiple times in the last decade. Rose narrowly missed a win at the 2017 Masters. Rose lost in a playoff on the first extra hole to Sergio Garcia.

Cameron Smith $8,700

Smith has three consecutive top 24 finishes on the PGA Tour, including a fourth place result at the ZOZO Championship @ Sherwood.

In his last 12 rounds played on the PGA Tour, Smith has only posted an individual round score over par once. It should also be noted that Smith has previously played well at Augusta National. Cam finished fifth at the 2018 Masters.

Sebastian Munoz $7,900

The 27 year old Columbian has three top 23 finishes in his last four events on the PGA Tour, including a ninth place result at the CJ Cup @ Shadow Creek.

As of this writing (Friday evening), Munoz has completed two rounds of tournament play at the 2020 Masters. Sebastian has a two round score of six under par. Munoz currently finds himself in a tie for 14th place.
