2. Scouting Report. WR. Georgia Bulldogs. George Pickens. Pick Analysis. player. 814

George Pickens may not be draft eligible, as he is only a true sophomore for the Dawgs this season. Though his numbers have been inconsequential this season, a lot of that has to do with lackluster quarterback play, as well as Pickens missing a pair of games with an upper body injury. While 2020 has not been the year we were hoping for out of him, his NFL future is a bright one.

We saw last season what Pickens can do to take over a game. He absolutely dominated the Baylor Bears in the Sugar Bowl. Pickens has game-breaking ability all over the gridiron, but he can disappear for stretches as well. The other thing that is a concern with him is maturity. Look no further than the shenanigans he got into with Georgia Tech last year and Tennessee this year.

Overall, Pickens feels like a three-and-out player for Georgia. It is a shame that Kirby Smart has let the quarterback room get so bad that it is utterly wasting Pickens’ undeniable talent. Then again, there may be consistency issues that have prevented him from dominating the SEC like so many thought he would at the start of his true sophomore season. Either way, he is a fascinating player.

Does he have first-round talent? Absolutely, but will it be maximize at Georgia? Of course, it will not! Unless he puts together an All-SEC junior year in Todd Monken’s system in 2021, Pickens will be a day-two pick in 2022. However, he can be someone’s next superstar in the second round. It would be a Smart indictment to have had the next Randy Moss and not use him effectively.
