4. Jacksonville Jaguars

Like the Jets, the Jacksonville Jaguars are an absolute mess of an organization. This was a team that was one victory away from reaching their first Super Bowl in franchise-history in 2017. They went into full rebuild mode just one year after their AFC Championship Game against the New England Patriots.

Head coach Doug Marrone was brought back following a 6-10 record, even though the organization was heading towards a complete overhaul. Marrone has been far from impressive in his “prove-it” season, as the Jaguars currently hold a 1-7 record. After quarterback Gardner Minshew suffered a thumb injury, Jacksonville used it as an excuse to embrace the tank, with the hopes of getting a Lawrence or Justin Fields. Regardless of the season’s outcome, it’s hard to envision Marrone retaining his job.

The Jaguars have been known for their top stars publicly decrying the team and pleading to get traded elsewhere. Prime examples of that are cornerback Jalen Ramsey and edge rusher Yannick Ngakoue. Jacksonville needs a new image and a change in culture, and Shaw would be the perfect man for the job.

3. Los Angeles Chargers

The Los Angeles Chargers have been a cursed football team ever since they made the move from San Diego. Despite all of the talent ton both sides of the roster, head coach Anthony Lynn has been unable to lead them to their expected heights.

This season has been cruel to the Chargers. Their defense was bitten by the injury bug early on, and they’ve suffered for it ever since. On the flip side, the Chargers offense has been exciting with rookie quarterback Justin Herbert starting under center. Even with this explosive offense, the Chargers can’t close out games due to said injury-riddled defense. You’d think Lynn would use previous losses as a learning experience. Yet, they find more heartbreaking ways to end up on the losing end.

Lynn seems like a nice guy, but the Chargers are expected to contend with Herbert still on his rookie contract. If this trend continues, Los Angeles should look towards the local college scene and bring in Shaw for an interview.
