Melvin Gordon returned to the Denver Broncos in Week 7, which seemed to insinuate that Phillip Lindsay‘s value would diminish. That has not been the case.

Even with Gordon back in the fold, Lindsay has still had big games. In Week 7, he ran for 79 yards on nine carries and in Week 8 he added 83 yards on six carries with one score. Look at that production with such limited reps. Although, in Week 9, he had just 23 yards on eight calls.

At one point, it seems as though Lindsay’s value will drop as he gives way to Gordon. However, there is no doubt Lindsay has been very efficient with the reps he has gotten.

During the team’s win in Week 6 against the New England Patriots, Lindsay carried the ball 23 times for 101 yards. As a runner, he has a lot of value with that production. He just needs to score more.

Perhaps that happens when the Broncos play the Miami Dolphins at home in Week 11. Miami has defended the run steadily. But on the road with a rookie quarterback in such a unique climate, Denver may be operating on offense quite a bit. Meaning, Lindsay could take advantage of a tired defense on the road.

Gordon has not been entirely too effective since returning. Lindsay has played his way into more reps, and his rushing total is a great indication of that. If he can score more, and say he tallies at least one against the Dolphins, he will provide fantasy owners with a strong return.
