This week’s Fanduel lineup is extremely top-heavy with so many players ineligible.

This is a weird week for Fanduel lineups. The quarterbacks are especially strange, with Josh Allen on bye, Russell Wilson and Kyler Murray playing on Thursday night, Patrick Mahomes playing on Sunday night, and Tom Brady once against gracing Monday Night Football.

Those are the highest-priced players at the position all playing away from 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. time slots. That leaves Aaron Rodgers as the top player and a rookie Justin Herbert coming right after him.

Running backs are plentiful, as Dalvin Cook makes a huge jump in price. He’s now going for $10,500 after two straight 38+ point performances. He’s never had less than 16 points in a game this season, so the price is justified. However, is it possible to build out the rest of the roster? It would take a lot of high-risk, high-reward players that may or may not bomb completely.

Building a roster this week takes patience. There is a huge difference in price between the top players and everyone else.

The difference between Alvin Kamara and Derrick Henry, who are next to each other in the rankings, is $1,500. There seems to be a consensus to spend big on the guarantees (Kamara, Cook, and Christian McCaffrey when he is healthy) over those who could fall off depending on the week (Henry, Aaron Jones, Nick Chubb, or Ezekiel Elliott).

There are some smart risks to take. The players that haven’t seen their values jump despite the fact that they have been consistent the past month are still out there, but they are rare. It takes diligence and strategy to find them. More than anything else, it takes the willingness to go through most of the players on the docket this week.
